  • 1978: Born in Vigo, Spain

  • 1989: Watched a fascinating documentary about DNA. Discovered interest on Genetics.

  • 1990: My parents bought me my first computer, an Amstrad CPC6128. Its interface was an interpreter of BASIC, so I learned how to program it on my own to change games. Discovered interest on coding.

  • 1996: I met the girl who changed my life.

  • 1996-2000: BA Biology. University of Vigo

  • 2002: MS Biology. University of Vigo

  • 2005: PhD Genetics. University of Vigo. Supervisors: Armando Caballero and Emilio Rolan-Alvarez.

  • 2006-2007: Visiting Aurora García-Dorado’s Lab at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain).

  • 2008: Married that girl I met 12 years before.

  • 2008-2010: Angeles Alvariño fellow (Xunta de Galicia) at the Population Genetics and Cytogenetics (XB2) group, University of Vigo.

  • 2008-2009: Visited CIBIO (Portugal), 11 months, and University of Montana (USA), 1.5 months, to collaborate with Gordon Luikart.

  • 2011-2013: Survived by being contracted for different research projects in the XB2 group.

  • 2014: My son born. Got a 1-year silly fellow from Xunta de Galicia, still in the XB2 group.

  • 2015: I moved to the Phylogenomics Lab, still in the Universidade de Vigo, with David Posada to work on different projects.
